District 5 Finalist:

Danica Stello, WI

Hello, my name is Danica Stello and I live in Mindoro, WI. I am 15 years old and have been exhibiting Dairy since 2023. I am a Sophomore at Melrose-Mindoro High School and active in the FFA Chapter currently serving as the Vice President. I exhibit Dairy as a Burr Oak 4-H member at the La Crosse Interstate Fair in West Salem, WI. My starting dairy project was a Brown Swiss spring calf that initiated my love for the Brown Swiss breed. I currently own three (3) heifers, one of these being a Brown Swiss winter yearling. I have a passion for Dairy and would like to choose a career in Agriculture and a dairy genetics field.

District 8 Finalist

Tatum Copeland, OK

My name is Tatum Copeland and I live in Collinsville, Oklahoma. I am 13 years old. I love showing dairy cattle and hanging out with friends and family. My family has lived on this farm for 4 generations. My grandparents and family all live on the farm. We currently have show cattle but cows were milked here until 2016. We mostly have registered Brown Swiss but some Holsteins and Ayrshires. My sport is showing cattle. I love showing and meeting new friends. I use my school breaks to show cattle and spend my spare time with the cows. I live with my mom and step dad and younger brothers and sister. I am thankful that Brown Swiss has allowed me to travel and meet so many show friends. I love animals and spending time with them is my favorite thing.

District 8 Finalist

Lauren Benfer

I'm Lauren Benfer I grew up on a small dairy farm located outside of Clay Center, Kansas. I've been in the Brown Swiss project for 7 years and this is my favorite project by far. This past year, I was chosen to be the Kansas Brown Swiss Queen. I am very delighted to hold that position. The Brown Swiss project is also my FFA SAE project. On my Family dairy farm, I help milk and feed calves. My favorite is to feed calves because all the babies are cute, and I enjoy feeding the babies because my family members don't have patience. Our Family milks approximately 100 cows and we milk both Holstein and Brown Swiss. Our family most times goes to three shows and we only show our Brown Swiss, but the 3 shows are the local county fair, Kansas Jr. Dairy show in Salina, Kansas, and Kansas State Fair. At the state fair, this past year my heifer Steph-N Dare Me ET got Reserve Champion in the 4-H division. After High school, I plan to go to a Jr. college and get a veterinarian technician. After I get my degree, I will go back to the farm and help my dad and keep raising and showing Brown Swiss. I have many hobbies but my favorites are baking/cooking. I enjoy showing many different animals at my county fair like goats, horses, and dairy cattle. I enjoy helping my FFA chapter with many activities in the community.
