2012 Board Action

WINTER MEETING - NOVEMBER 29 & 30, 2012 - BELOIT, WI

A motion was made and seconded that Purebred Publishing print the Bulletin with specification that there be a mandatory quarterly review between David and Seth. Also, the contract will be on a one-year contract to be reviewed at the end of the year.

A motion was made and seconded to allow Switzerland permission to use the 500 SNPS bulls the U.S. exchanged through the inter-genomics agreement for an Italian research group and only for the Italian research group.

A motion was made and seconded to write a letter stating our neutrality at Council on Dairy Cattle Breeding until a resolution for the betterment of the dairy industry is brought to the table. Specifications will be put in the letter requesting a cooling off period so the right decision can be arrived at.

A motion was made and seconded to approve the proposed 2013 budget.

A motion was made and seconded that for accounts that owe more than $200, no work will be processed until the balance is at zero. Effective March 1, 2013.

A motion was made and seconded to change non-member registration rates to under 6 months $30, 6-12 months $35; 12-24; $45 for 24 months & over will remain $50. Effective March 1, 2013.

A motion was made and seconded to change the fee for production/show records added to a pedigree increase to $5.00 per request per animal, excluding catalogs. Effective March 1, 2013.

A motion was made and seconded to change the male DNA parentage fee to $50. Effective March 1, 2013. 

A motion was made and seconded that estate transfer and intra-herd transfers be changed to $3.00. Effective March 1, 2013.

A motion was made and seconded that after 60 days any corrections to animal names be assessed a fee of $5.00. Effective March 1, 2013.

A motion was made and seconded to accept name changes to state and national judge’s lists.

Summer Board Action - July 2012

A motion was made and seconded to accept Data Processing Written Rules & Regulations.

A motion was made and seconded to send the bylaw committee a recommendation to remove the requirement of fellow breeder/banker associate endorsement from the membership application.

A motion was made and seconded to form a finance committee made up of two board members and the Executive Secretary.

A motion was made and seconded that Brown Swiss Association endorse the idea of an All Breeds Convention.

A motion was made and seconded that the office draw up expectations for the Brown Swiss Bulletin and get 3-5 publishers to respond to that bid.
(Board would like the bids to be received by Oct. 15th. A decision will be made at the November conference call.)

A motion was made and seconded to add Ron Heffner & Jennifer Clark to state judge’s list.

A motion was made and seconded that any cow found in ethics violation will be removed from the All-American contest and her national show winnings stricken from the performance pedigree. Directive: Executive Secretary to submit a letter asking national shows to call in both the cow’s owners and fitter(s) in the case of ethics violations.

A motion was made and seconded that an animal must show within the U.S. at a national qualifying show to be nominated for All-American contest.

A motion was made and seconded to move Hank Van Axel to the national judge’s list.

A motion was made and seconded to accept the National show judging list.

A motion was made and seconded to replace the Foot & Leg Composite (FLC) with Mobility (MO).
